Book #86: Bryant and Mays on the Loose

Bryant & May on the Loose: A Peculiar Crimes Unit Mystery by Christopher Fowler

Enjoyable as this book was, I can't say I really understood it fully since there were 6+ others in the series before this. I can't quite grasp if the oddities of the crime unit are supposed to be regular people or magical in some way? Like one can figure out every movement that happened in a crime scene room or they keep making references to Bryant rapidly aging when the force is disbanded and he isn't using his critical thinking skills. But it's an otherwise regular book about London police solving crimes (...although there was a witch so hm.). I don't know! I guess I will have to start at the beginning to find out! Reading this book tells me they don't do that awful recap thing that a lot of series do and that makes me happy.

All in all a good mystery novel! Not sure if everything stated really happened historically or they're just playing with things that COULD have happened but it was well done anyway.
