Book #97: Windblowne

Windblowne by Stephen Messer

Another mostly harmless children's novel. Unfortunately this one wasn't too interesting. I had a hard time with the author's world building. I'm usually ok with being thrown right in there since it's not always necessary to completely understand where the characters are but in this case the world(s) within the story were part of the plot! It's a world with two moons where people live in tree houses and fly kites but the kites are maybe possibly sentient? Or just a few are? I still don't really know.

In the end I didn't really like it but it was a quick read and I think it actually might be improved by a visual format. I kept imagining it in the style of those old Teddy Ruxpin cartoons!
