SPOILERSDaughter of Smoke and Bone

I feel like I was supposed to like this book more but I really really didn't. I've never hopped aboard the angel train (I made Kim read Hush, Hush and Fallen and tell me about their horribleness so I wouldn't have to). Aside from Angel Sanctuary and Constantine, I've never really enjoyed the fictionalization of the christian religious figures. It feels...easy? I don't know how to explain it. But anyway this book doesn't really set off my religious second-hand embarrassment meter as much as others, so I'm pretty grateful for that.
The romance, on the other hand, completely stupid and cringe worthy. I couldn't take it. I did not care about anyone. The supporting characters all seemed a bit..twee? I give it some props for world building but otherwise this ruins my good book streak.
