I bought this one because of the coppery haired heroine on the front cover. 90% of the time it means I will at the very least enjoy the protagonist. I'm on the fence on whether this book falls into that percentage. I have the second book so I'll try again with that one but I felt very unable to connect to the world and I hate random romances just so a fantasy novel can fill it's sex scene quota. There was no reason this book needed Sorcha and Raed to fall in love except so they could have marathon sex for 3 days. So I was a little bored but somewhere midway through I think it showed a little more promise and I stopped dragging my heels and read it straight through.
I've read the Downside Ghosts series and this just seemed a lesser version of that, but normal fantasy instead of urban fantasy.
