Book #94: The Graveyard Book

The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman

This is the first Gaiman book I've read that wasn't horribly tedious to get through. I always love his ideas but his novel writing style just didn't appeal to me (his Doctor Who episode was fantastic, however). But! I did manage to enjoy this one a lot. It was more simplistic and fast paced and I liked the idea of a little boy growing up in a Graveyard and being raised by ghosts and a night creature of an undetermined species.

Very rarely in children's books do the main characters make stupid mistakes because it's natural to them rather than for the sole purpose of furthering the plot so I really appreciated Nobody Owens and not once did I really want to punch him for being an idiot (though he was one several times).

I may give Stardust a chance now~
